Lisa welcomes Clay Smith, literary director for the Texas Book Festival.



In his role with the Festival, Clay is in charge of recruiting the nation's best authors to be involved. His goal is to develop an annual program that reflects national political and cultural issues, and that highlights vibrant new voices.


This year, for the first time ever, the Texas Book Festival is assembling a panel of authors of youth-oriented books featuring gay teens as the protagonists.


Do You Mean Gay as in Happy is Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 3pm at The Sanctuary, 1201 Lavaca Street in Austin. More information at Texas Book Festival.
